Rick Riordan (born June 5, 1964) is an American author from Texas.

He graduated from University of Texas at Austin where he double-majored in English and history. For fifteen years he taught in public and private schools in California and in San Antonio.

Riordan is the multi-award-winning author of the Tres Navarre mystery series for adults and the #1 New York Times best-selling Percy Jackson and the Olympians series for children. On May 4, 2010, The Red Pyramid was released, the first book in the The Kane Chronicles. A third series, The Heroes of Olympus was released the same year on October 12th.

John Rocco is responsible for the cover and promotional art of all three of these series within North America.
